The 49th Annual University of Okoboji Youth Soccer Tournament will be held this Saturday and Sunday, June 6th & 7th at the Bedell Family YMCA in Spirit Lake Iowa. The tournament will be played on the seven fields and will be hosting 64 youth soccer teams. Teams from the Omaha area include: Christ the King, Holy Cross, Mary Our Queen, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Albert, St. Cecilia Cathedral, St. James Seton, St. Patrick, St. Pius/St. Leo, St. Robert Bellarmine, St. Vincent de Paul, and St. Wenceslaus. Tournament Directors are Julia Heimes, Tyler Becker, Olivia Armenta, Jason Vanis, Patricia (Ticha) Rohan, Cece Perez, Kim Brammer, Matt Anderson. Tournament founders are Jim & Mary Morrison and Bob & Mary Jo Ellis. Tournament Coordinators are Matt Richter and Herman Richter. Opening Ceremonies begin at 7:45 AM Saturday June 6th with the colorful Olympic Parade of Teams. 1100 plus boys & girls will be participating. Play is scheduled for all day Saturday and Sunday with no admission charge for either day. Special Thank You to Andrew Fisher and the Bedell Family YMCA for making this tournament possible.
