“Rocktoberfest” will take place October 24th following the children's Fall Festival hosted by the Chamber of the Iowa Great Lakes and Arnolds Park. The Bedell Family YMCA UV Splash Run begins at 6:30pm. Live music, games, and craft beer will take place in the Roof Garden from 5pm-11pm. The live music will be provided by 3 bands: Bad Authority, Polka Police, and The Mighty Nish Band. Bad Authority won last year’s Battle of the Bands from Carroll, Iowa. Rock ‘n roll legends KISS, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, and Motley Crue influenced the band. The Polka Police is out of Omaha, NE. The duo is known for it’s fun, energetic performances while playing the top hit songs from the 60’s to today. They put on a show using only an accordion and a suitcase drum set. The Mighty Nish Band is also out of Omaha. This group began their Iowa Great Lakes debut at the Barefoot Bar. The band plays a variety of music from oldies, rock, to pop. A bean bag tournament takes place from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Roof Garden. Teams of 2 may register for $10 beginning at 5:00pm in the Roof Garden. All the proceeds go to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Okoboji’s West O Brewery will take part in the event by providing craft beer samples. West O’s passion is to hand-make beer with personality.
