1:00 pm- 3:00 pm Join Kevin Spire for a beginning genealogy class in the Milford Community Center on Friday, March 11, from 1-3 p.m. This class will cover organizing your information—forms, charts, physical storage of papers and give an overview of different software programs. Learn how to evaluate sources and learn about the pitfalls of relying on other’s research, both online and in books. Explore genealogy websites and work through some basic building blocks of genealogy, including your personal family items and census records. Attendees are encouraged to bring birth and death dates and locations for their grandparents or great grandparents so we can try to locate more information about them. When the class is done, everyone should have a good idea on how to start, where to go for more information and how much fun family research can be.
