If you are upset about the county officials "back dooring" the lowering of the lake you need to contact the Iowa Governor!!! That hole will never be filled in again, in about 2 months that hole will be filled in with the culvert that some people have wanted for years now. Its nice to know that people around here are taking steps to make sure flooding doesnt happen and take the steps needed incase the water did rise as projected. Im amazed as to all the negitive posts on here that people put on here. I bet some of you would then say they should of done it sooner if it actually did flood and then still blame them for it flooding. remember back in 1993 we had a 2 year long drought and they said it would take years to come back. well right now we are at the pre 1993 flood level and had what.. 2 feet to go before it gets really bad? if the ice was actually out at this level the waves would do a tremendous amount of a shoreline damage. so here again I say thank you for taking the precoutionary route in taking the steps. And by the way dont post negitively so fast next time. THEY DIDNT GO THROUGH WITH IT. I wont get into the other things that happend around here this winter that should of been prevented.
