I have fond memories of the lake. I spent my summers as a child playing and having fun. It's been a long time since I have been back, but I hope to make it back soon. Our cottage was on Dixon Beach. I loved it.

How bout them oysters at Captain's? I had a great time last week in Okoboji and can hardly wait to come back on the 4th! If you didn't get the chance to kick back and listen to the Fishheads at Captain's you may get your second chance when they're back in July! Tell Jason, Lisa, Matt and the rest of the crew at Captain's hello and remember ... don't let the goodtimes ... Getaway!

Hope you all have a nice summer up in Iowa...Looks like I might not get to come up this summer but plenty of the Normanswill be up there.....Anyway I always think of the Lakes Area when summer hits.. All the fun you ever want to have is up there...will be thinking about it in good old Florida

We can't wait to get there for the 4th with our new baby!! Although it was nearly impossible to get airline tickets!!

We spend a lot of week ends camping at Emmerson Bay On the fourth of July we have a family get together.My husband goes scuba diving and locates the fish for me. I love small mouth fishing ,while I'm fishing the kids and their dad go treasure hunting and last year they found a ships anchor that dates back to 1896 it was quite a neat find.We love Okoboji ! I can't wait to get up to the lake for the 4th of July weekend. I was there over Memorial Day weekend and it was VERY COLD and rainy...brrr!!! I love Okoboji...and have all my life. I even met a new friend due to Okoboji online!

Just wanted to say " Hi! " from Arizona. I miss the lakes so much! I'm coming home over the 4th I can't wait to see all my fiends and I hope that everyone has a blast now that there is actually some sun. See you all soon:)

If I could be at the Lakes TODAY, I would. But guess I'll have to wait until July 13-19 at the Inn. Does anyone know if they're rebuilding the Okoboji Grill? Also, anyone involved with the second annual Rennaisance Festival? Specifically, street actors interested in fencing. Should I bring my foil? Can't wait!

When visiting the Lake O area, don't miss the Okoboji Summer Theatre. The plays and musicals are great. You won't be disappointed!

Great job on the web site, guys. But I have one suggestion, how about a " culture " category, to go along with the " nightlife, " " recreation " and others?

Lake bound July 3rd to the 13th lets party down!!!! the whole time I'm there.

We stopped by the lake, Aug 25 1957 on our Honey moon. Will try to get back there this Aug. The weather was very bad that day, so hope the weather is better this time.

But of course, Okoboji would have a Web page, I should have known, but Ive only just discovered it. Will enjoy it from now on, it bings back fond memories of summers on Hayward's Bay.

Where are all the guest book archives from March, April, May and June of 1997?!?!? The only archives listed are from Jan and Feb. of 1997. One more week and I am going to be at the lake! I'm very excited!!!!!!! My family just bought a new bright yellow boat and a yellow Seadoo, so if you see those out on the water, shout " hi " to me!!!

Respond to Steve Fields @hhswc@mwci.net--have you tried the Spencer area? It is just 15-20 minutes to the south of Okoboji, on the same road.
